Fallen King

Cast iron fence

Built to protect

Surrounded by towers of pain

 Others had to erect

Looking deep within my fortress

But hidden behind the gate

Crossing over the moat

Fighting the pain I hate

Cupid's arrows shooting at me

Blocking out the sun

Standing tall in its shade

To fight yet another one

I will stand upon my tower

I refuse to give way

But then my heart gets weak

As my ears listen to what she may say

She soothes my ears

Over time

With pleasantries I've never heard

The beast in me is pricked

Yielding to her every word

Feeling her softness

Upon her breast

My head rests

As she gently caressed 

I let her into my halls

We walk

We laugh

We smile

We kiss

She leads me deep 

Within her chambered walls

Bonded we have stood

Sharing only my heart's goods

Giving in to

What we desire

Confused at times

Yet remaining on course

A dream come true

Heart on fire

Something's strange

But its shrugged off

There's a blip on the radar

I stop to peek

But my heart is blinded

In too deep

Gone in too far

Time goes by

And love appears to reign

My heart is filled with joy

To awake one morning

To an empty bed

Love is gone again, forevermore

Duped by the passion

I let down my guard

Let love trickle into my heart

Didn't heed the warnings

Looked passed all the signs

Now in pieces I'm torn apart

A fortress in shambles

Heart has been trampled

Flag has been trodden down

A fallen King

A desolate land

And no one left around

Repair the gates

Seal off the fence

Clean up the mess she left inside

Repaint the walls

Redecorate the halls

Next time don't be so blind

Restoring my crown
